“Don't be told how beautiful it is somewhere.
    Just go there yourself. "
With this in mind, we start the day today. Our goals are the castle in Park Lindenau and the moated castle in Großkmehlen. No appointment today, we decide ourselves when it starts.
We let the early bird fly off with its worm and then slowly roll off towards Brieske. The weather frogs promise a wonderful day. In Ruhland we drive along the Schwarzwasser and on to Bärhaus. First stop at the bakery in Frauendorf. As always, busy. On to Lindenau. At the entrance to the village is the “White Birch Meeting Point”, a nicely arranged rest area. Maybe a meeting point for the party people from the legendary Lindenau Park Festival. Anyway, on to the castle. What we see is a gruesome sight of a castle that has been abandoned to decay. Apparently the listed former renaissance castle is urgently looking for a new and solvent owner. A short detour through the park confirms the dilapidated condition of the entire complex.
After crossing the small arch bridge, we continue along the Pulsnitz to Großkmehlen. The section is a particularly beautiful path in the midst of untouched nature.
The moated castle is located in a 4 hectare park. On the 2nd weekend in September, the Open Monument Day and the Park and Hop Festival take place in Großkmehlen. It's a shame, tomorrow would have been the better day. Or maybe not, too much hustle and bustle.
Anyway, a small snack is waiting for us in the outskirts at the old Ritterhof. After lunch we move on to Kroppen, Arnsdorf, Schwarzbach and Biehlen. It rolls well and after a short time we land in the home port. It's still early in the day, so off to your favorite ice cream parlor.
So our tour to the former homes of the landed gentry in the region ends with many new insights and impressions.

Oh, another nice round. Yes, the Lindenau Palace and park, which has been abandoned to decay, is the nightmare in person or every culture lover. Years ago, when it was sold, the municipality "forgot" to ask the new owner to renovate the castle and park within a certain period of time. And now? I don't know whether the municipality wants the castle back or not wanted ???? I can't understand how the Free State or the districts watch how German history or culture is slowly but surely decaying. I am of the opinion that such valuable goods belong in the hands of the country and not in private ownership. Well, the main thing Once again you had a lot of fun on your trip, a nice and sunny weekend.

You're right Kathrin. The nice thing about it is that there is still so much to experience out there. It won't stop anytime soon. Not to be forgotten is the wonderful side effect. You stay fit.

Thank you Dirk, have a nice weekend trip to you too. If the press is to be believed, the community now has the lock on its cheek.

You're doing it right you two! Live life !
Let the early bird go (🤣👍) and off you go on an adventure. .
I think some of you who read your great tour descriptions dream of exactly this freedom to organize the day as it turns out. I also...
And how right you are, that's how you stay fit! 👍

I can agree with you Marita. 😉😇 And even before I had read the first sentence of your tour description, I thought to myself ... I have not seen any of it and now I am planning a tour around Ruhland. 😉 Thank you for taking it with you and giving you a suggestion. 🤗
