On the fifth Moselsteig stage it gets more and more hilly. First, you cross the Moselle again and climb up the left bank to the rock path. High above the river you can enjoy a magnificent view over the valley and the city of Trier. After about six kilometers you cross the Trier district Biewer. If you are already in the mood for a break here, then you will find various rest stops.Afterwards it goes steeply up to the bee mountain, where also a small Marienkapelle stands. Through an extensive forest you hike on to the Ehranger balcony. From this vantage point you have a fantastic view of Ehrang and the Mosel valley. In some serpentines it goes through the forest downhill to Ehrang. Here, too, hungry hikers will find various snacks and restaurants. After a break the Moselsteig leads you uphill to the small settlement Hintere Heide. On the eponymous heath you hike downhill to near the banks of the Mosel and on to the final destination Schweich.Between Trier and Schweich drives the Moselle Valley Railway RB81.Timetables can be found at moseltalbahn.de.
