On the third stage the landscape becomes a bit more dramatic right from the start. From the starting point you hike directly below the Nitteler rocks and then climb up to Kammweg above the rock walls. From the top you have a great view of the Mosel valley and of course on Nittel.Over wide fields you wander in the constant up and down in the direction of Konz. The Moselsteig leads you off the shore through a peaceful hilly landscape, which spoils you again and again with beautiful views. At the rest area in Fellerich you can take a long break and admire the wooded hills and vast meadow valleys. Afterwards it goes over a wooded ridge up to the Löschemer chapel. From the small church you have a wonderful view down to the Mosel valley. In some hairpin bends it goes steeply downhill to the banks of the Moselle and on to the stage destination Konz. On the Konzer bridge you now cross the Saar, which flows into the Mosel at this point. The third stage is mostly quiet and secluded, so you will not find inns or restaurants. Best to pack a good package in the morning. The Nittel train station and the Konz train station are both served by the Moselle Valley Railway.More information and timetables can be found at moseltalbahn.de.
