A nice loop, which takes you to the top of Mont’Armenaz and Mont Pécloz in an incredible setting where marmots and chamois are numerous. From the Couvent car park, you start by gradually climbing up a wooded path that runs along the Lanche stream. You pass the Notre Dame de Bellevaux chapel and the ruins of an old Benedictine monastery, and continue your ascent on a winding path out of the woods. You arrive on a magnificent line of green ridges, which takes you to Mont d'Armenaz, at 2,158 meters above sea level. A small cross marks the summit, and here you are facing a superb panorama! From there, you continue on your way to Pécloz. The ascent is through rocks, and sometimes you have to use your hands to climb. You are rewarded with a splendid view of the Bauges! You begin your descent via the west ridge of Pécloz. Take your time, it's a bit steep at first! The trail then descends more gradually through the forest, before returning to the Convent car park.It is possible to go to Mont d´Armenaz in the opposite direction, by following the route presented in this Collection for Mont Pécloz.
