Green algae cover the tunnel-like water slide, through which a lot of children cheered. Bushes and trees conquer the former sunbathing lawns and deep cracks run through the sun-drenched light dome. Before you arrive at this unique Lost Place, an absolutely natural hike from Bad Düben through the Dübener Heide lies ahead of you. There is also one or two vertical meters for free. The easiest way to get to the small spa town of Bad Düben from Leipzig is by bus 196, which takes you every hour from Leipzig main station to Bad Düben to the HeideSpa stop. This line runs as a PlusBus, a premium line that can also be used to take bicycles with you. At the beginning you stroll completely relaxed through the spa park and past the mill pond. Slowly you leave civilization behind you on the Spatenweg. At the very end of Bad Dübens, a few relics of the old forest hospital can still be seen. From now on, however, the motto is: forest bathing! The terrain rises slowly but steadily. After a good eight kilometers, you've earned a decent break. Hopefully you will have a snack with you, because apart from nature and a pretty covered refuge to relax in, there is nothing here. Past the Wurzelberg it goes down again and you can already see the foothills of Bad Schmiedeberg. And now it is right in front of you, the old Basso water park, the former figurehead of Bad Schmiedeberg. In 1993 it was opened as the very first water park in the new federal states. Following the trend, more and more fun pools were created in the region, so that the visitors spread out. The bathroom ran into financial difficulties and had to finally close its doors in 2009. Today it is often used as an unofficial party location. You return with the dial-a-bus 306. However, this only runs Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Simply contact us at least one hour before your planned departure at 08000-366 910. The bus will take you to Lutherstadt Wittenberg, where you have a connection to the S2 to Leipzig. From Bad Schmiedeberg you can also use the RufBus 238 on the way back.Important: An additional ticket is required to use the RufBus to Witteneberg, as the bus ride is not included in the MDV tariff.
