The Schaumberg, with its height of 568 meters, is not the highest mountain in the Saarland, but due to its flat surroundings it offers the most spectacular view - especially if you climb up to the Schaumberg Tower. The dinner tour takes you up to the summit plateau and around the wooded mountain slopes.Starting point of the tour is the trail parking lot in the center of Tholey. From here, the signposted table tour takes you up the Schaumberg in a few hairpin bends. In the famous Schaumberg Tower, you can admire the magnificent view and visit the exhibitions on climate change and German-French friendship.Directly at the foot of the Schaumberg Tower there is also the cozy excursion restaurant Schaumberg-Alm - the table-top restaurant of this hike.Strengthened then it goes on over the wooded slopes on. Soon the forest clears and gives you a wonderful view. Shortly after, the path leads you back into the forest and on to the small Blasiuskapelle. Here the path bends to the north. You will meet a narrow stream, which you follow upstream. Next highlight is the striking African chapel. The small, seven-sided chapel was built by German prisoners of war, who had returned from Morocco after several years of imprisonment. The chapel houses a statue of the Mother of God made by one of the captives in Africa.Below the summit of Schaumberg we return to the starting point of the hike.
