08/20/2021Our tour guide Hermann had set the beer garden at the “Schlössle” inn in Staufen as the destination today.11 FCM cyclists were at the meeting point and the route led via Brenz to Hermaringen. In Hermaringen, our tour guide played out his local knowledge and led us over winding alleys to the well-known cycle path along the railway line to Giengen-Gerschweiler. Past the “Filze” and the “Ziegler” we went towards Hohenmemmingen. In Hohenmemmingen, the traditional cyclists were asked a few grains on the inner-local, demanding slopes. Even getting off and pushing was sometimes the order of the day. A few hundred meters after the local cemetery, there was another sweaty climb in a north-westerly direction to the somewhat distant stop-off point. After this effort, we enjoyed the drinks and the culinary offerings in the beautiful Schlössle beer garden. We would love to come back. The way home was via Landshausen, Hohenmemmingen, Giengen, Hermaringen, closing the gap on the B 492 and Brenz to the starting point.Particularly noteworthy today:- Today touring newcomer Gerald F.- The tour recorder lost the group on the way back after a stop at Landshausen and due to the darkness and filmed an additional route. Fortunately, the merger soon took place again via mobile phone contact, even if this lost time.
