This tour comes from the Drautalradweg website.
As the name suggests, the Drautal Cycle Path leads along the Drau. Finally the Drava flows into the Danube in Croatia, next to the border with Serbia.
Information about the tour (from drauradweg.com/de/etappen/etappenraum-7/unterkuenfte):
Experience the unique connection between nature and cultureThe Drau leaves Maribor and pours over the Drau field in its natural form through several nature parks. The largest are the Drava Landscape Park and the Šturmovci Nature Park. Here you can watch how the Drava has changed and influenced the surrounding landscape for many centuries. Along the river there are always calm and deep water holes that invite you to cool off. One of the most interesting recreational spots are the Duplek Wake Park and the Ptuj Lake with many recreational and sports opportunities.Through beautiful fields you reach the oldest city in Slovenia: Ptuj, which has existed since Roman times. Ptuj has a well-preserved medieval town center with a castle and is also known for its Kurent culture - demonic beings who drive away winter. Relax in the Ptuj thermal baths or enjoy a glass of wine in one of the many wine cellars in the region, such as the Jeruzalem wine cellar in Ormož, the largest winery in the region. After Ormož and Središče ob Dravi you reach the Croatian border and finally Varaždin, a baroque town with lots of young people, music, flowers and cyclists. The city, which the locals affectionately call "Little Vienna", offers a well-preserved city center with a castle and beautiful parks.GPX or KML file can be downloaded from the link above.
