Circular route through the valley of the Große Lauter in the Lauterach area. It is best to visit the famous cathedral in Obermarchtal with its characteristic twin towers beforehand (after that you may be too dirty).Easy access to the parking lot at the replica of a "limestone saw". We leave the street at the Laufenmühle (catering). From here "hiking in nature", on easy roads, meadow paths, forest paths.I find the weirs interesting, through which water is diverted from the Great Lauter, and channels next to and above the Lauter then lead it to the mills (today power plants). I have never seen myself exposed to such a large number of mosquitoes. The forest paths and paths require careful orientation. I saw more paths and ways than on the map. For this, some of them may not have existed in reality. Especially on the ascent east of Reichenstein I got confused, and then it got really muddy in front of the really wonderful viewpoint at the edge of the forest after the rain.My impression: the valley of the Große Lauter is definitely a recommendation for hiking. But I wouldn't want to take a good friend with me over the heights through the forest.
