There is not much to talk about today: I actually could go on tour at 7:30. The road climbed steadily but leisurely, so I soon had a nice view back to Bad Münder. Some people were traveling with their dogs, otherwise it was quiet. The path finally branched off to the right and I strolled through old deciduous forests. To the right I saw a small valley with pastures. It was quiet and peaceful. There were some big trees near Springe, but I could handle them well.
Then the path bucked to the left and it got really steep again. The Deister wanted to show one last time, what is in him. But even this slope was finally past, and a long Kammweg awaited me. Up here was the devil going on: cyclists in quantities, individual strollers, a whole troop of about 50 people. Finally, I understood: The Deister is the recreational area of Hannover, and it was a beautiful Saturday. Of course - half Hanover was here on the way.In the thicket, I saw an interesting lookout tower. But I had the 50s squad just behind me and did not want to start over again. That's why I saw that I got ahead.Someone in Lower Saxony must have heard my complaint that the restaurants do nothing for the hikers. Today I found two that were open, and probably there was one at the tower.
Anyway, I sat down at the Teufelsbrücke and enjoyed a rhubarb spritzer and a Pfiffering soup. So strengthened, I came quickly on the last few kilometers and reached around 16:30 clock the pension. It's pretty simple, but I just need a place to sleep.Tomorrow we go to the sea. Well, the Steinhuder sea, a large lake, but at least. For the next week, I have pre-booked my accommodations. That was not easy: the school holidays in Lower Saxony are just over, and the youth hostels are full of school classes. And the guesthouses and hotels are full of guests who want to take part in the various festivals (for example, Heather Blossom Festival). But almost everything worked out. Only in Soltau I still lack a flat, as I have just learned by mail. I'll have to search again tomorrow.
Up to the Maldives less than 9000 km, nice pictures
I hope you have packed mosquito repellent. If you walk through the Dead Moor on the right bank of the Steinhuder Meer, this is really recommended. But the area is just beautiful! If you come in the afternoon through Steinhude, then visit the ice cream parlor angle alley in Steinhude. They have really great delicious ice cream but also good cakes. By the way, the ice cream parlor is located in the street "Alter Winkel" and the restaurant "Alter Winkel" is not bad either. ;-)
