Our round tour leads us first over a farm road and after crossing the Els over a forest path in the Elstal up to the Schweinfurt house. The way back is via forest paths to Oberelsbach, a state-recognized resort in the UNESCO Rhön Biosphere Reserve. The baroque parish church of St. Kilian from 1784 can be seen from afar. Because of its elevated position and rich decoration, it is called "Rhön basilica".
Now we have arrived in the Franconian Rhön in Oberelsbach. The small town belongs to the Rhön Biosphere Reserve and impresses us with its great location. After a relaxed afternoon with reading material in the sun at the RV, we want to take a look at the area a little more. Too much relaxation is known to make you tired ... 😉We hike along a forest path along fields and pastures and at a ford we change to a small path next to the Els. The path is extremely muddy and slippery due to the many rain and mountain bikers who have "extended" the path quite a bit. As it goes uphill, we walk according to the motto "two steps forward, one step back".We reach the Schweinfurt house and look forward to a cool drink. Fortunately, there is still a place available for us in the sun. Unfortunately, nothing works out of our plan - I am told in an unfriendly way that the guests are a "closed society" (there was no sign to be found anywhere) and that they were also closed. Well, what can you say - we will certainly not visit the Schweinfurt house again. Our way leads us over forest and meadow paths, along beautiful flowers along the way back to Oberelsbach.

You met unfriendly people there 😳 But still a nice hike and great photos 👍🏻
Dear Petra, here too the exception confirms the rule. Otherwise we always had nice and very nice contacts. 😃
After a lot of half-timbering, old walls and ruins, now the lovely hilly Rhön again, everything is beautiful 🥰.You really bring great variety to your tours. Hopefully you will find your way back to MS at some point. But first of all have a really great vacation time 🥾🥨🍻🌞📷🌳🌲 !!!

Thank you, dear people from Münster. We are slowly on our way home towards the northwest. I think we'll be back in Münsterland in a week.
