At just over 14 kilometers, the ninth stage is shorter than the one behind you. But with the next ascent of the pass, you can still prepare for a few meters in altitude. From Davos Dorf you start the day in peace and quiet. After three kilometers you can take a look at the famous Schatzalp, which plays an important role in Thomas Mann's novel “The Magic Mountain”. From 1,800 meters you then climb up the hiking trail to 2,300 meters at the Strela Pass. Then the path leads you past small mountain villages until you reach the Walser village of Sapün. There you can learn more about the history of the Walsers, who settled there from the 13th century and who shaped the region with their special houses. After visiting the Walserdorf, the path winds its way back through greener fields down to Langwies. You will also come across the small Sapünerbach, which accompanies you to the entrance to the village. You will spend the next night in Langwies.
