While strolling through the city, I found this Hildesheimer deer. It looks suspiciously like a prehistoric cave drawing (hihi). The founding legend of Hildesheim tells of a rose miracle: Ludwig the Pious, the son of Charlemagne, is said to have met a white stag while hunting. He tried to catch up with the deer, but it was faster. Exhausted, Ludwig sat down under a tree to rest. He hung the relic of Mary, which he always wore around his neck, on a rose bush next door. Then he fell asleep. When he woke up hours later, the bush was in bloom and Ludwig could no longer separate the relic from the branches. Therefore, he is said to have built a chapel on the rose bush. This chapel was later expanded into Hildesheim Cathedral, on the wall of which the rose bush is still growing. That's art! Very nice!
For # 5, Rudi, the reindeer, I have the matching indicator HI-HO 😂. It's always popular when you're in the UK ...
Super well done ... beautiful photos! I know and like Hildesheim too much! Great day!
Very nice photos, we found Hildesheim very interesting on our last visit, unfortunately we didn't have the time. The naked woman with a bird 😃
