The first look was on the cell phone. What's the weather like? In fact, the rain and thunderstorm shouldn't start until noon. We going to make that! A quick, delicious breakfast (if you are vegan, just let us know beforehand) and we were already on the bike. Since the barriers are only open in summer…
Sounds good!
Lively and motivating description!
Did you first take the train to Glückstadt?
Where can I find out whether the barriers are open?
Isn't Elbchaussee currently a major construction site? I've been avoiding them for two months.
Questions about questions 😉
Moin Theo, this is the last stage of our tour, which we started in Hamburg and then drove via Bremen, Oldenburg, Butjadingen and Glückstadt.
You can find the opening times of the barriers here: seestermuehe.de/allgemein/oeffnungszeiten-pinnau-sperrwerk-und-krueckau-sperrrwerk.html
And yes, there is a big…
Hi Johanna, thanks for the quick and detailed answer!
You have made a nice big round!
I urgently have to get back on my bike tomorrow. I came back from Italy the day before yesterday - but on my motorcycle 😬😄
And the Cyclassics are getting closer ...
Do you start there too?
On occasion, we can also do a…
Moin Theo, I'm not starting in the Cyclassics, but I wish you every success!
Thank you 🙏🚲
Almost right past the front door (Kollmar) ... I am happy to give tips on another trip.
When I see that, the anticipation for the last weekend in August increases. We are exactly on the route from Glückstadt to shortly after Hamburg. As the second day's stage on the way from Cuxhaven to Dannenberg.
And a good tip with the barrage!
How did you get over the barrages. I wanted to travel from Hamburg to Glückstadt 3 weeks ago and there was a sign in front of the pin lock that it is closed until 2022 due to construction work and couldn't get any further. Are then the other way around.
Oh, that's new then .. Thanks for letting me know!
Hello Johanna, first of all thank you for all your tours! One question: is this stage also doable on a racing bike? And, as far as I can see, you could just drive around the Pinnau barrage, right? Kind regards, Mali
Yes, it is suitable for racing bikes up to Hamburg, then you will see when you plan that there will be a few off-road sections. You can drive around the Pinnausperwerk, but then it's about 20km more. I also have a Glückstadt tour in the Best of Hamburg Collection. It is also very nice and for racing bikes.
