The start of our tour was the Thomashof parking lot and it was a leisurely uphill ride. You pass the Rittnerhof, just like the Schützenhaus. We soon reach the Turmberg, which is 257 m above sea level. NN high local mountain of the Karlsruhe district of Durlach. Here on the mountain is the Turmberg ruin, the remaining tower of which serves as a lookout tower. The Turmbergbahn, a funicular from 1888, also leads up to it.Magnificent views of Karlsruhe and the surrounding area. The Naturfreundehaus Berghausen was opened especially for us people from the Palatinate and there were delicious Maultaschen for everyone. After refreshment, we returned to the starting point.
If I had known about the Maultaschen ... 😪
It would have been worth it 😃😃😃
My old home🙂And there was also a piece of the witch stafle
Hello Kauai, there had to be a few steps up the witches' tabernacle😉 I really liked your old home, these large meadows and beautiful views of the Black Forest.

You don't see much of the Black Forest there. But at least it starts right there. And not to forget the views of the Palatinate Forest. Straight from the Turmberg! The large meadow areas will quickly become a torture in summer at> 30 ° in the absence of shade ...
That wasn't a problem yesterday ☔🌨🌧⛈🌤
You described it nicely to Annemarie, yes the Turmberg is such a small magnet, even in the evenings. There is a Christmas market in winter. From July 7th the train will run again. But renovation work is pending, it would be nice it could be modernized for future generations (probably also works in fire protection) and could be preserved.
