Bike Touring Highlight
Andreas Kronier went for a bike ride.

... it thundered. ... it thundered again. I opened my eyes and wondered if it was in my dream and outside the tent. So I listened again and looked out of the tent at the same time. As it thundered again and a look out of the tent told me that probably something brewed there. I took the smartphone with rain radar to help and saw that actually a storm front pulled in our direction. It's funny when you only see sun and blue skies for days. Then you are even more surprised. So we organized around. First, dismantle and pack the bikes and then have breakfast. Said done ... then again through the climbing park ... 500 crowns will eventually be exploited ... and then it started.

It was actually the first fickle day of our bike ride. It always looked like rain, but the thunderstorm always seemed to pull ahead of us because we were constantly driving over wet roads. We lead by Faxe Landpladsen to the monastery Vemmetofte, which was founded in 1735. There are actually 106 inhabitants left today. We saw a nun with cell phone and car. Again, time does not seem to have stopped. Then we went to the seaside resort of Rodvig. Here we actually got the first shower of the tour, in which we had to lie down. The whole took exactly 15 minutes. Then it went on in the best weather continues to Copenhagen. Our lunch break was spent at the church in Højerup. Höjerup Church was built by a skipper in distress, he vowed that he would build the chapel if he were saved .............
The church is located on the 30 m high steep bank. It was consecrated in 1357; the sea undermined the bluff and in 1928 the choir plunged into the water. The rest of the church was underpinned. According to the legend, the church should push its way into the interior of the country every Christmas night. The last service was held - in 1910. You can stand in the church and look out over the sea through a door.On March 16, 1928, at five o'clock in the morning, a landslide happened near Højerup. This had happened both before and after, but that fall was so extraordinary because it brought down the choir of the old church of Højerup.
We carry on and it got hotter and hotter. We stopped again at Stevn Klint. Here you have a perfect view of the chalk cliffs. There is also a beautifully situated shelter with sanitary facilities. The route was mostly on agricultural roads beautifully through the hilly coastal landscape. It was so hot now that I stuck to the sandals on the street during the last break before Køge. Scary .....We reached the campsite in Køge, which was beautifully situated in a pine grove and was even cheap by Danish standards at 260 crowns. The only downside was the main street next door. But that was too much to handle.
Wow! Impressive tour! We must, if we are in the future in the area, also try it out! Look forward to inspiring, instructive and interesting tours! With best regards, your robin fan-team
