Fränkisches Eußenheim - Teiche, Ensberg, Weinberg, Wern
Ewu went for a hike.

Komoot offers numerous hiking suggestions around the Lower Franconian wine village of Eußenheim (especially: the incredible view from the 'Edelweiß' over the Main Valley). This time I looked for a different way: it starts from the parking lot next to a bakery and restaurant, a little through the narrow alleys, past fish ponds, along an elongated valley behind the Ensberg (Ennertsberg, Enerzberg, whatever), above the vineyards the forest, past a farm of wind turbines, to an exhibition of historical landmarks on the 'glee Flürle' (small hallway), past a hut with a wonderful view over Eußenheim to the heights of the Spessart, down into the valley of the Wern. After the rains of the past few days, some places were muddy, some of them were already well overgrown. All in all, for "real hikers" it is easy to do and worthwhile. However, at 2.9km, if you turn left into the forest from the valley, you should rather take the detour along the forest. Then you walk a bit longer on the uppermost of the vineyard paths, but you are rewarded with a wonderful view. Anyone who walks through the forest like me must look very carefully for footprints on the almost no longer existing path. The two pensions pension-heuler.de and fitnessoase-eussenheim.de are worth staying overnightThe whole region is also highly recommended for bike trips.
