Along the route you will find the Lower Rhine brewery, idyllic farm cafes, beer gardens and restaurants and you cross the river via a bridge as well as by ferry! The route starts in Wesel near the train station. A long gray Hanzel ribbon runs through the pedestrian zone of Wesel. The stone band bears the names of the 185 cities that belong to the Hanseatic League of Modern Times or the Westphalian Hanseatic League. Which ones have you already visited?Cycle through the beautiful city center of Wesel past the rebuilt Wilibrordi Dom and the historic town hall. Then you cycle to the banks of the Rhine. From the old pillar of the former railway bridge you can gaze out over the water. The river promenade is very cozy and you could almost linger on a terrace. But there is still plenty to discover on this bike ride. For example, you drive further along the Auesee and then the Waldsee. Past Bislich you cross the Rhine with the ferry (bislich.de/content/mensenfaehre-keer-troech-ii) and on the other side you can enjoy a nice lunch with a beautiful view. The cycle path through the Bislicher Insel nature reserve is a real pleasure, with all the natural beauty and rich animal life. The tranquility attracts many birds, and cyclists, of course, who in turn enjoy the birds.Through Ginderich and Buderich you cycle back to the banks of the Rhine. Over the Rhine Bridge you first cross the Rhine and then the river Lippe. This way you cycle back into Wesel, directly to the impressive citadel. In the star-shaped building you will learn more about the history of the region, an absolute must and a nice end to a nice cycling day.
