    On natural paths through moor, forest and heatherThe 654-hectare nature reserve "Großes und Weißes Moor" (NSG LÜ 061) is one of the best preserved raised bogs in northwest Germany. This is why this area was recognized by the EU as a flora-fauna habitat (FFH area) in 2004.NABU Rotenburg, together with the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, has created four nature adventure hiking trails. The longest is the quality hiking trail north path "Dör’t Moor", which was nominated in 2021 for the choice of "Germany's most beautiful hiking trails".The hike begins directly at a large parking lot and first leads along the large Bullensee, a very beautiful swimming lake. After around 700 m, turn left into the "Na't Moor" moor area.The rest of the route runs on wide, easily accessible paths with plenty of seating along the moorland and through beautiful forests. Numerous information boards provide information about the moor and its inhabitants.After around 6.3 km you reach the Spieker sheepfold, where various old agricultural implements are exhibited in a kind of small open-air museum.The rest of the route runs along through beautiful forest passages before reaching the small Bullensee. From there it is only a short distance back to the large Bullensee.

    Despite the advance praise that this North Trail gets, and despite its Oscar nomination, it is one of the most boring trails in my experience. I think it's all done well, but actually done too well. It just becomes a little sterile all too quickly. Since you did not include a rating, I would be interested in yours ... In terms of photography, however, there is nothing to complain about! More is not possible ... 🤩📷🔝🔝👏👏

    Burkhard, first of all thank you very much for your great feedback on the photos 😃. As far as our rating is concerned, we have deliberately held back a little. As is so often the case, it is a question of personal preference. We love it more natural and original - and also like a bit rougher and wilder, as often found on Mallorca. This north path is rather designed for easy walkability and accessibility. It is well done and nicely prepared ... but no longer natural and original. In this respect, we agree with your statement about sterility and that it is a bit varied in some sections. Nevertheless, we believe that it still appeals to many hikers.

    One can see a path in such different ways. Well, the trail may not be an adventure for professional hikers, but I've never found it boring. Geest, moor, deciduous and coniferous forest, water, meadows, fields have enabled me to encounter animals and plants on a few corridors that I could not find so easily anywhere else in northwest Germany. I enjoy going this route with friends from abroad - nobody has found it boring so far. I am a little concerned about the current hype about this nomination. I hope it stays at number 2 and the hype will pass.

    I think your great photos confirm that again - don't they?

    We were there recently and I have to say that a lot of the atmosphere here is determined by the weather. You were lucky enough to have the sun in your luggage. We had clouds and clouds of mosquitos. There was little to be expected of the moor, especially in comparison with the Tister farmer moor in full cotton-grass bloom. There are nice corners all around. And you also took great photos. And it's good when everyone has their favorite tracks.

    @Aci Penser / @ Angie P:
    Thank you for your comments ... and I'm very happy that you like the photos so much 😃 Above all, your two comments confirm what I wanted to express with my comment: it comes, as with every hiking trail, a lot on personal preferences ... We also saw a number of beautiful passages on the way (hence the photos). What we personally don't like so much are the wide, but perfectly prepared, paths ... but that doesn't mean that it is not a good hiking trail ... on the contrary, it is very easy to walk on. Personally, I have missed larger areas of water in the bog, such as those found in B. in the Tister Bauernmoor or the rewetted Hagener Königsmoor. But that's also my personal taste ... I just like the great reflections. But this mainly refers to the "moor" part. All in all, the path with the large and small Bullensee together was quite varied.
