So, that was him now - my feared opponent. Wasn't that bad, but confusing. And for me another lesson about self-perception, attitude and the old ghosts.Altitude meters are definitely not my strength and yesterday I climbed over 1000m in one day for the first time! Admittedly, these were distributed quite fluffily overall. But that scared me so much beforehand that I actually only wanted to face the Marsian Mountains at the end of the orbits that I could drive. Alpinist's comment a few days ago regarding the development of the soil conditions made me reschedule everything. I could also imagine that the exposed areas will soon become even deeper sandy and, above all, dustier. As I can see from the comments, Spooky Sputnik is also the ultimate sandpit waiting for me ... I'm curious!Actually, I set the course for the whole trip on the first ascent. When the speed dropped drastically right after the start, it immediately put a lot of pressure on the mood. Motivation in a dive ...What exactly had changed since the first orbit? It was less than 2 weeks ago when the question was whether I could drive any of these routes at all. Yes I can.A week ago I realized that - if everything goes well - I'm not that slow at all.And now you don't feel like it anymore if things don't go perfectly?Dear pressure to perform. I know we know each other well and it's nice that you were there again. But now fly away, you bird !!!!The optimist takes over again and sets the new direction: From now on, speed is negligible. Cadence! Everything that is easy to pedal is driven quickly. But when it turns into physical effort, the pace is reduced or even pushed. Step by step ... Always in such a way that it still feels good. At my own pace. And there it is again, the fun of it!And of course the route will soon be much more flowing ...A little anecdote in between: I am firmly convinced that my Playstation past helps me with orbit. I was the ultimate Grandmaster in V-Rally and many sections of the tracks and the constant scanning of the underground remind me of it extremely.Overall, I'm surprised that the track really rolls as well as everyone said in advance. Super varied, extremely beautiful and just great to drive (but was sometimes happy about my wide tires).I've often thought that I would like to ride this orbit again relaxed with friends and take breaks. Many thanks to the scouter! It wasn't until the last section, when it got permanently bumpy again and the last climbs were draining, that I clearly reached my limits. As smoothly as it all went before, now I notice what I've already driven. The mood becomes unstable, the pace slows and I am 1000% convinced that under no circumstances will I dare to go on orbits that involve even more vertical meters. “Here is the limit! Shift in the shaft now !!! ”A certain stubbornness is spreading ... But like on Johanna's home straight, the same applies here:“ Grit your teeth and somehow rock the thing home! ”When I checked the total time at the finish in disbelief, I was completely confused. The whole time I had the feeling that I wasn't going to be particularly fast. In the last section I even thought I was very slow. The time I see now is very fast for my circumstances! It should be said that a long time ago I banned some data such as average speed from the wahoo and forbade myself to check the total time for today. All buddies from the gentleman pressure to perform!More than 25 years ago, I swore to myself that I would NEVER take part in competitions AGAIN - regardless of the form. Precisely because sooner or later the pressure to perform has always robbed me of all fun.Dear Orbit360 participants, thank you very much for using this friendly and collaborative format to create such a cool world in which a lot seems possible. In any case, most of the time I have a lot of fun!
