The Gattunalp is a lost alp on the "shady side" of the Lötschental above Kippel. Previously bumped, abandoned today - a cross and a few crumbling foundations are still reminiscent of the past.Only a few tourists hike through the Chaschtlerwald up to the Gattunalp. The others miss the view of the opposite, developed side of the valley. On the far left you can see the walls on the Stritungrat - dry stone walls of national importance, built at the turn of the last century by Italian migrant workers to protect the Goppenstein train station. You will see the Faldum, the Resti and the Kummenalp, which are now populated by the population during the summer holidays. The Lauchernalp with its lifts and the widely scattered holiday homes as a witness of the 21st century and, further to the right, the Petersgrat. The white glacier band is wonderful to look at on a beautiful summer day with a bright blue sky.The Gattunalp and the surrounding nature is the perfect habitat for a wide variety of animal and plant species. By staying on the paths, you will experience this natural idyll without putting too much strain on it.
