The downslink follows the line of an old railway connecting the north and South Downs way. It’s great with children as it’s almost completely off-road and pretty much flat. Lots of coffee stops on route and we made a shortish diversion at the bottom to stay in a campsite rather than wild camping.

Thank you for sharing your ride @Phillip, I did not know the Downs Link but it looks perfect for an off-road ride, I'll make sure I include it in a future gravel ride!

Thanks, it’s a lovely route, hard packed surface and slightly downhill if you travel north to south (making it great for kids but it’s also really nice for adults!)

Ah, I'm an 'out-and-back' kinda guy and will be coming from the North, so I guess the way back will be all slightly uphill for me... 😅

Haha. Me too but I had two young children and it poured with rain all day the following day so has to abandon the return
