One of my favorite tours after work! First it goes along the Lahn cycle path to Limburg until shortly before Staffel. Then continue over fields along the ICE route and then a decent climb up to Gückingen. Shortly before entering the village you have a magnificent 270 degree panoramic view! The heights of the Westerwald and Taunus, Feldberg, Mensfelder Kopf, Schaumburg and Lahntal: everything in sight! It continues through the great mixed deciduous forest to Hambach. Behind Hambach a nice climb back into the forest to Görgeshausen. Here we drive a few hundred meters along the road in the direction of Niedererbach until we turn left into the forest about 300m behind the motorway bridge and after about 30m again steeply right into the forest. At the beginning the path is still romantic: a narrow path, dense forest and natural soil. However, that will soon change. It goes steeply downhill, the forest thins out more and more until we continue downhill through the bare forest on a wide forest road towards Erbach. When we arrive in the valley, we keep to the right. The way is no better here. Sad. Half a year ago there was still dense forest and a narrow forest trail😑. Only a few hundred meters before Niedererbach does the path become natural again and the dense forest returns. We cross the village and take a natural, easily navigable cycle path towards Elz. We stop briefly at the Martinsfund (old slate tunnel). Worth seeing! Nice resting place with wayside shrine, explanation board and picnic area! It continues to Elz, via Offheim back to Dickerich😊
