Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
Flat out, high speed forest road descent … early on in the day coming up directly after a long climb this is your time to shine early!
At the most northerly part of the course you will encounter a lung buster of a stage. Mixed gradient and track you need to muster all you can to win over this climb!
No joke this is a long one, the longest stage of the day at 8km comes after lunch. A rolling fireroad assault with not enough down to recover and enough up to bring on those burning legs.
Don’t quit and go all in!
The final tester, a descent of singletrack track testing your bike handling before fortune favours the brave in the fireroad finale. Leave it all on the trail!
Includes off-grid segments
Navigation instructions may be limited.
Planned by GRINDURO!
The Grinduro Scotland course for 2018 is a serious affair (45 miles of rolling terrain) but isn’t meant to be a sufferfest. We’ve linked together some of our favorite roads and trails on the Isle of Arran. With spectacular scenery and a friendly pace, you’ll be in no big rush to find the finish line. The course features a mix of surfaces (smooth pavement, gravel and hard-packed dirt) with punchy climbs, flat out fire road and flowing natural singletrack descents. Riders will finally descend a cliff top to the shoreline with stunning coastal views. With a Gran Fondo-style mass start from Lamlash, you’ll be pedalling out of town and up the first climb alongside your heroes and the pace will be conversational—because overall time doesn’t matter, only the four timed segments. The Grinduro segments (the exact sections will be shared two weeks prior to the event date) are designed to reward the most well rounded of rouleurs.
