The Hamme is a large river in the middle of the Teufelsmoor and, so to speak, the lifeline of the landscape on which the vital peat was transported. The river starts very small and rises from the Giehler Bach, which gradually merges with other rivers and comes together to form the Hamme. This hike leads through the quiet and particularly green geest landscape in which the Hamme has its origin.Even if the tour is a bit asphalt-heavy - although you can often run at the edge on better surface - and it is not full of "highlights", it still has its own charm. The calm is often only interrupted by the numerous chirping birds, which sit in large numbers in the treetops ... and along the way you can see many butterflies and, with a little luck, deer (we had a total of five on our tour).

What wonderful pictures, again, Andreas! I'm excited! Above all, you met the cute Blau, eise and the deer very well! Photographing animals is a huge game of chance, and it is only possible, if at all, with a lot of patience and a very good camera. And you obviously have it! 👌🏼😊
I used to be in Osterholz-Scharmbeck more often, at Faun, one of my former employers ...
Greetings to you both from Schleswig! 😉

Very nice tour (without any rocks ... 😂) with great pictures. The doe in the ditch is obviously about to give birth ... 🤩🦌😂🔝👏

@ Frank: Thank you very much, Frank 😃 You are absolutely right about animal photography. B. with the doe standing in the ditch. At first I thought it was a joke - in other words a "sculpture" 😉 ... and then everything had to go very quickly. Fortunately, I had my large telephoto zoom on it (100-500 mm).
We wish you a nice time in Schleswig and many nice tours.

@Burkhard: Thank you very much, Burkhard 😃 The rocks now have to wait a few weeks because we have quite a few appointments in Germany in May. Fortunately, the weather is now better than when we landed at the beginning of last week ... with the cold 🥶 and the rain 🌧 we would have loved to turn around immediately. You should be right about the doe, because she was already quite "wide" ... but still very nimble on her feet.

@Rai_Lui: thank you very much, Rai_Lui. Yes, luckily I decided to take the big telephoto with me on this hike. The chirping of the birds were far more motifs, but they either stayed very well high up in the treetops or were always hiding behind thick branches 😔
