If you don't yet know Hövelhof, the best way to get to know the community is on the historic hiking trail. The short hike over six kilometers is particularly suitable for families with children. In addition, you have many options to extend your stay there, because Hövelhof is located in the Westphalian Bay in the region of the Teutoburg Forest and thus in a unique natural area that offers many more hiking opportunities with the nearby Senne nature reserve. From the train station, the hiking trail first leads to a special natural spectacle. Shortly after Park Verrieres, the Krollbach runs through Hövelhof and splits into a two-river system at a rare fork. Then the path continues on the outskirts to the Friedenseiche, a piece parallel to Bielefelder Straße, over the community cemetery in the direction of the old hunting lodge. There is not only space to relax in the sun and see what it looked like in Hövelhof many years ago. Before you get back to the train station, you should pay a visit to the new center and the church of St. Johannes Nepomuk. Both places stand for the history and also the development of the community.
