The Patscherkofel is the home mountain of Innsbruck - and thanks to the cable car also easily accessible without having to climb long. On the ridge and the wide slopes lies one of the largest pine forests in the Alps. On the signposted Zirbenweg you can explore the forest on your own and you will be pampered again and again with beautiful views of the Tyrolean capital along the way. The hiking trail has been awarded the Tiroler Mountain Trail label and is also suitable for families. At the start of the hike you take the gondolas of the Patscherkofelbahn to the mountain station at Igls. The Zirbenweg starts here. First the route runs over open mountain meadows and then into the mountain pine forest. The natural hiking trail winds up and down the ridge between Patscherkofel and Neunerspitze. On the way you can take a rest in the cozy Bochebenhütte. You can also choose to let yourself be pampered at the end of the tour, in the Tulfeinalm, surrounded by extensive alpine meadows. Just a few minutes from the Alm, the Glungezer Bahn will take you to Tulfes. From here there is a bus connection back to the starting point in Igls or directly to Innsbruck.
