deuter planned a hike.

Two Arber peaks and a wonderfully beautiful lake: This is what awaits you on this hike. After you start at the Brennes car park, you will reach the Kleiner Arbersee. This was created in the last ice age and is characterized by its floating islands, the so-called swinging turf. They are a holdover from the wood drift. Due to the damming of the water, moor felts loosened in the bank area, which now float as islands on the lake. The Seehäusl with its wonderful sun terrace is ready for a stop. Here you can gather your strength for the upcoming ascent to the Arber plateau. First you get to Little Arber. On your way on, you walk past the Chamer hut, which you can head for if you have skipped the Seehäusl beforehand or if you want to refresh yourself again. After another three kilometers you will reach the highest point of the Bavarian Forest: the 1,456 meter high Großer Arber. It is also known as the "King of the Bavarian Forest" because it triumphantly towers over the vast forest area. Soak up the wonderful panorama until you start the way back down to the Brennes parking lot.
