A short tour, but in this meager 20 kilometers you collect a lot of altitude meters. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck and the holiday village of Rum. Moreover, you are spoiled for choice in which of the cozy huts along the route you take a well-deserved break. You start on the narrow forest path in the Mühlauer Wald and collect the first vertical meters on the way to the Hungerburg. Alternatively, you can cover the first few kilometers with the Hungerburgbahn or the J-bus - but then you will have to continue with the sheer strength of your calves. The mountain hut marathon now starts on forest roads and trails that are sometimes a bit steep but otherwise easily accessible. The first possible stop for a snack is the Umbrüggler Alm. If it is still too early for you to take a break, just keep going. Three more places to stop for refreshment follow: the Arzler Alm, the Rumer Alm and the Rechenhof. If you prefer to bring your own provisions, then you are guaranteed to find the right place to stop: with a breathtaking view over Innsbruck, the snack you bring will taste even better! And for dessert, a long descent back to Innsbruck awaits you.
