What all «mountain» has in its name ...
The spontaneous little round leads me from Offenbach first to Heusenstamm and from there - always following Hohebergstraße from the level crossing - to the "Hoher Berg" hill west of the city. Trachyte was mined on the west side of the mountain until the 1960s. Accordingly, the path ends at the fence around the former quarry area.
A little below the water reservoir, continue over the Lohschneise to Offenbacher Weg and towards Dietzenbach. The next destination rises to the west of the city in the Dreieicher Forest: the Ebertsberg. Several trails lead up. At the top of the "summit" which is around 190 meters above sea level. A colorful scene with a cone of large and small pebbles, a wooden stele and fluttering prayer flags welcomes you at a high elevation.
Then back to Offenbach via the Bestewiesenschneise and Gravenbruch.
