Ringenberg Castle, that's where we've always wanted to go. If not now then when. From the Weseler Rheinufer parking lot, it went straight over the Rhine dike in the direction of Flüren and then through the Diersfordter Wald. At Diersfordter Waldsee we found a wonderful place to take a break with a view of the lake. But after 10 km a break would be a bit too early. So it went on through Hamminkeln towards the castle. The castle (moated castle) is very nicely located and is also quite well preserved. On a bench with a view over the moat towards the castle we took a short break ☕ in the sun. We continued along the Issel in the direction of Obrighoven. For a few kilometers there was only one footpath alongside the Issel, which was a bit of a challenge for our city bikes and for us. Back in Wesel on the Rhine promenade, a lot of visitors had already gathered for Corona times. There weren't any free seats, but the ice cream tasted good standing up too.
Hello Willi: Very nice tour and (as always) also very nice photos 👍😉 I would love to be on the Missisippi paddle steamer now ... 😢
Thank you Wolfram🙏Unfortunately, the paddle steamer will have to lie at anchor a little longer😒
Beautiful route selected. On the Issel, the path is more for hiking. 🤔
The area looks very familiar to me 😉, you took a nice tour and, as always, wonderful photos 👌🌞🤗
Thank you @Burghard and @ Werner😊
A nice lap that you drove there is also our home. Greetings Siggi
Great tour Willi 👍Can you see what your bike can do 😉By the way, you can eat very well in the castle 🥘 .... unfortunately not possible at the moment
really nice tour, and the photos really invite you to descend.
Thank you @Sigi and Helge, that is also a beautiful area thereYes @Frank, I've already ridden MTB routes on my bike and we both survived.Just had to retighten the chain afterwards and do a full cleaning😊

@ Koga-Willi, last week I was from Duisburg to Rees and back on the left bank of the Rhine, but your tour (towards Hamminkeln / Bocholt) is also very important to me. I will follow your tour one day😋.
Great photos from the impressive and water-rich tour
