Get ready to hike through idyllic alpine meadows and along wild mountain peaks. This first stage of the six-part Gastein Trail starts in Dorfgastein, at the parking lot of the Fulseck lift to be precise. You can make a stopover at the local tourist office if you wish. After a short walk through the authentic mountain village, cross the water and follow the path to Unterberg. This is where your mountain hike really starts and you walk in the direction of the Amoser Alm. Along the way you will pass the Bärenkneipp, great to put your feet in the cold water. You climb higher and higher and after the Amoser Alm the next checkpoint is the Stoffalm. A beautiful and truly authentic Alm, which is in use as a holiday home. Below you the valley gets smaller and smaller, and from this height you always have a beautiful view of the valley where you come from. The road continues through a forest and after a steep climb the Drei Waller chapel comes into view. The pass where the chapel is located is at an altitude of 1,425 meters and is an old pilgrimage site. Hikers immediately recharge their batteries here. Is it not because of this special place, or because of the unique view of the enclosed valley. You can continue! On to the Rauchkögerl, from where you have a view of the vast Salzach valley, which forms a special contrast with the landscape of the Gasteinertal. You have now arrived at 1,810 meters and continue your breathtaking journey at great heights, over rolling mountain ridges and through impressive old forests. From here you descend only a short distance, so the view remains beautiful. You walk over the Bettlersteig, an old connecting path at the foot of the Bernkogel, to your final destination: the Heinreich Alm.Do you have any energy left? Then stick to your walk for half an hour and climb to the Tagkopf. Here you can enjoy the tranquility of the sunset at the top.
