Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)
Staffan went mountain biking.

Today an extended Lake Biel circuit was planned. I added the following "extensions":- Rebenweg (Tüscherz - Twann)- Luwang Trail (Prêles)- Combe-du-Pilouvi Trail (La Neuveville)- Hofmannsfluh Trail (Vinelz - Lüschez)- Oberholz forestThe highlight was without a doubt the Hofmannsfluh Trail. I've missed it completely until now.The setback was the Combe-du-Pilouvi Trail. From km 22.4 on, I probably got lost. Tried to follow a path that has not been used for years in the direction of the main road. Everything became even steeper and blocked (really not drivable). If I had a rope with me, I would have roped down. Somehow I was able to lower myself, meter by meter, towards the main road. In the end everything is fine.
Uh, that sounds like alpine technical use. Hopefully come down without damage. 😯
Yes it was like that. Both me and the bike came down safe and sound. 😊
Uff luckily it went well ... On my trip on April 1st, I also caught the beginning of this trail, but luckily I found a way out sooner.

Interesting that you got caught too; you just have to turn around before the "point of no return". You did well. It's deceptive because somehow it was an ancient path that only got worse.I think if you keep right (along the gorge), you'd have to come down better (Eric managed to do this, see the highlight). I don't know if I'll try again.
Since where we both took this trail at the beginning, it is still wide and easy to ride. I'm also not sure if I'll try that again, with Eric's description it doesn't sound like a flowing single trail :-)
Staffan, I only managed it on the second attempt. If you stick to the visible path down, you actually tend to end up on the left in the forest with the increasingly sloping flank. Then I turned around and kept to the right of the gorge. But as written in the HL, this is not necessarily a slippery, flowing ride either. Very steep with a mule track ... and probably with a lot of hikers on the weekends. My tip is to take a run on the trail at the height of the waterfall (i.e. the east trail) and then if necessary turn back and take another trail to La Neuville ... but the gorge is still worth seeing.
Thanks Eric, you're right, thanks for the tip. I won't make my second attempt.
Lars Däppen chose an interesting route yesterday, I have to ask him how the section is there.
Thank you Christian. I've seen it, much better. I'll try it.
Hello Staffan. You always have great tours in the komot. Keep it up
