April 14, 2021
On the fourth day, the Bernina Tour is a little gentler at the beginning: the first half of the route is a little ascent through forests of larch and Swiss stone pines in the picturesque Val Roseg. Where the trees are slowly becoming fewer, there is a wonderful view of the mountains at the head of the valley: Piz Tschierva, Piz Morteratsch and the Biancograt, which leads to Piz Bernina, line up in front of your amazed eyes. In addition, the Piz Roseg with the Sella group and the Piz Glüschaint present themselves. Then the consistently steep ascent to Fuorcla Surlej begins over the eastern slopes of the valley. The higher you get, the better the view of the peaks. If you need even more motivation: Up on the saddle, a mountain inn awaits you with refreshments and refreshments and a small lake in which the mountains that you have been admiring all day are reflected. On the other side of the saddle, you climb a little downhill and then cross with a final counter-climb over to the Murtèl middle station in the Corvatsch area. From there you take the mountain railway down to Surlej. The last trip is usually at 5:05 p.m., only from July to mid-August the last cabin gondolas 20 minutes later into the valley.
