A trail tour over the Ettersberg on today's Memorial Day. Exactly 76 years ago the concentration camp was liberated by American soldiers. Part of the tour leads over the embankment of the former Buchenwaldbahn. It is somehow strange and oppressive to drive there, considering how many people were deported to the extermination camps there.
The trails are all still there. Actually, the Thuringia forest wanted to cut down a lot on the Ettersberg, but I didn't notice much of that. The dudes have continued to build on the downhill track. A few bikers were out and about and we wanted to admire them downhill. Unfortunately they only came towards us uphill (when shuttling). The Ilm cycle path was bursting at the seams in front of people today and we were happy when we could finally leave it behind. In the woods, on the other hand, it was relaxed as usual. The trails were nicely dried off and the sun was already warming you up.
I hope that the weather will be nice in the near future. Would like to do another tour with you, for example in the direction you drove today.
I will register with you at the same time.
Also included, but trail bike
* registration *But I don't have a gravel bike. Can a fully go there too? Or a hardtail if necessary? 🤣Speaking of gravel bikes ... I don't see any. Has it finished? 🤔
Hopfgarten ... Ettersberg ... there was something👍👍👍 + is and remains a tip for further toursVery nice round👍👍👍
@ everyone, you are always cordially invited. At the moment, the formation of groups is unfortunately severely restricted by the corona ordinance, so it will probably only be possible for two at the moment. Just give me a call, you have my phone number. I'm glad.As soon as the restrictions are lifted, I will also be happy to organize something for all of us together. I'm particularly looking forward to that.

@torsten: my new gravel bike is not yet fully assembled, well recognized. At the moment I'm still waiting for a special tool to finish the work properly. We were on the road with the rigid bikes today, which is roughly comparable.@Stevie: A trail bike is also great for the tour. Maybe we'll do this tour together soon, we still have to optimize a few places - so find ways.@ Hallunke: right Andreas, we have already ridden the round together. But today I was out with my daughter, so I "defused" one or the other point. Above all, it should be fun and not torture.
Alu, let's do a lap of the trail, Ilmtal or Ettergbetg trails ... we should vote shortly before the We
