My traditional spring tour over the Bergische Bahn tracks routes should take place today at single-digit plus degrees and hazy weather. After the quickest possible journey from Bonn to Opladen, we first went to the Balkan Terrace. It was possible to drive quickly, as only a few day trippers wanted to spend the day outdoors.Unfortunately, the route between Elbringhausen and Bergisch Born is completely closed due to a canal construction site. The diversion wasn't well signposted, but somehow I cheated my way and turned onto the Wippertalbahn cycle path in Bergisch Born. At the end of this, I first discovered the neat station building of Marienheide behind the boring supermarket.Even if I no longer drove on official railway routes, the Leppetalstrasse from Marienheide to Engelskirchen used to be lined with the narrow-gauge Leppetalbahn. If it weren't for the terrible traffic, there would be a lot of evidence of industrialization to be discovered ...In the Aggertal I then took the cycle path from Overath via Lohmar to Siegburg, on which the Aggertalbahn used to run. To the north of Siegburg there are still some remains of track next to the cycle path. However, I returned straight to the hot shower without stopping.
