The cave at the Hundalm is the only ice and stalactite cave in Tyrol. In summer, the cave is open to the public and you can visit it as part of a guided tour. (July & August daily, May, June & September open on Saturdays and Sundays)For your cave tour you should definitely bring warm clothes - even if it is sunny and warm outside, it remains very frosty in the cave. The climb is quite challenging, but the cave tour is well worth the effort. Thanks to well-developed hiking trails, the tour is classified as moderately difficult.Your hike to the ice cave on the Hundalm starts at the hiking car park in Embach, a district of Angerberg. From there it goes on a forest road up to the mountain inn Buchacker. Here clears the forest and the other trail runs with great views over wide alpine meadows. You continue up the wide gravel road and soon reach the lookout point Adlerhorst. Without significant height difference, it continues to the ice cave. After you have explored the cave extensively, you walk the same way back to the starting point of the tour.
