The hilly plateau around the Zollnersee is a real hiking paradise for families and connoisseurs. On comfortable trails and without significant differences in altitude, you can discover the lake, the vast alpine meadows and the magnificent views. In addition to the peaceful nature but also the so-called scriptures await you. Along the way, you can learn about the formation of the raised bogs and about animal and plant fossils on the Nassfeld.Your hike starts at the hiking car park just below the Zollnerseehütte. You walk past the refuge and follow the path towards Zollnersee. You will enjoy the fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. The Zollnersee is picturesquely embedded in a hilly bog area and thus alone a rewarding hiking destination. From the lake you follow the Geotrail over the open alpine meadows. With a wonderful view, you will continue hiking comfortably. At the northernmost point worth a detour to the alpine hut Rosserhütte. Alternatively, you follow the path directly back to Zollnerseehütte and treat yourself there your stop.
