Von Esthal auf dem Prädikatsweg "Brunnenweg" (westlicher Teil)
Euphemia Anna 🌳🌲 and Rehlein went for a hike.

Today we are walking the western part of the "Brunnenweg" (new predicate hiking trail), after having walked the eastern route two days ago. We choose the direction of this circular route clockwise so that we can walk the long steep climbs right at the beginning and not just at the end ... Today 6 fountains are waiting for us:We start from the parking lot opposite the "Esthaler Bürgerstübl" on the village square with the village fountain decorated with Easter. From here, take the main road to the right to Brunnengasse, which leads down into the forest to the Schelmenteich fountain and is named after this fountain. Here in the forest, many beautiful forest paths and paths start down to the small Wolfsbrunnen (this time without water) directly at the "Wolfsschluchthütte" of the Palatinate Forest Association (local group Esthal). But in "Corona times" there is only a short breather left here - with many wonderful memories and longing wishes for a future stop at this beautiful place ...!We continue on very beautiful paths to the small Erntsiegelbrunnen: a little hidden at the bottom left off the path, but not to be missed by a clearly visible signpost. Then on again on beautiful paths to the gold fountain, which is labeled a "natural monument". Our lunch picnic is now taking place down here by the cool Breitenbach. From there then slowly uphill - and towards the end very steeply uphill to the Roman fountain, which consists of two parts (fountain with name stone and pond with a second water pipe). There is also a nice bench here. The way back leads in big bends around the Michaelsberg - and then down on a beautiful path into a very sunny valley full of meadows and cows in the southeast of Esthal. The first houses can already be seen on top of the mountain - and the fountain of mist is not far anymore. After this last (and fifth) well, the only way to go is steeply up the meadow and up the mountain road - and we're right back at the Kath. Church and the village square.A reward is already waiting for us there - in the form of a delicious piece of cake from the Bassler bakery!A varied tour with great forest paths, many beautiful fountains and resting benches next to splashing water - with a consistently blue sky and sunshine: that is called a vacation (on the doorstep). Highly recommended (not only) in Corona times!
