With a height of 834 meters, the Hohe Lindkogel is one of the higher mountains near Vienna and a worthwhile destination for mountain bikers. The start, which you can reach the quickest with the S-Bahn, is in the beautiful spa town of Baden. From the train station you start in the direction of the city center and soon you will reach the Helenental, through which the Schwechat river paves its way. The route is flat for the first ten kilometers, but then the climb to the Hohen Lindkogel begins. From the Hirschenkreuz the ascent becomes really steep and you will definitely need the lowest gear of your drive. The reward of the effort is the refuge on the summit and the great view of the Vienna Basin. The descent then runs over a rather rocky trail. Some sections reach difficulty S2. At kilometer 20, shortly after the first section of the trail, you have the option to switch to the Harzberg route and descend on a forest road. If you stay on the trail, you still have a good 300 meters of S1 depth before you are spat out in the vineyards in front of Baden. In Baden, it is definitely worth taking a round through the beautiful old town before you get back on the S-Bahn back to Vienna. The perfect bike for this tour: Giant Stance E + or Liv Embolden E +giant-bicycles.com/de/bikes-stance-eplus-2021
