No surprise at the headline: On your circular hike today you will discover three real castles and countless fantastic views. The Drei-Burgen-Weg was set up for the 700th anniversary of Königstein in 2013. Along the way, you will discover not only the Königstein castle ruins but also the Falkenstein and Kronberg castles. On the 13-kilometer round you even cover a few meters in altitude - 330 in number.Your hike starts at the train station in Königstein - it is therefore possible to travel by train. The first destination of your hike is then the Königstein castle ruin, which towers majestically over the city. It continues clockwise over the magnificent viewpoints Hildablick and Dettweiler Tempel to Falkenstein Castle. This castle has only survived in ruins, but still offers a great insight into the castle world of the Middle Ages. You now walk in a wide arc to Kronberg. In Kronberg there is the eponymous castle Kronberg, a high medieval rock castle from the 13th century. The oldest remaining component is the 42-meter-high freestanding keep. When the castle is open, you can even climb the keep - from above you have one of the most beautiful views of the Rhine-Main area. Those who want to delve deeper into the history of the castle can visit the castle museum, which was redesigned in 2008. Via the Philosophenweg below the Opel Zoo, you now hike from Kronberg back to the starting point.
