March 13, 2021
On this hike you will develop alpine feelings - and all of this without having to climb many meters. You hike on curved paths alternating through open bush art meets nature - this hike not only reveals wonderful views, but also a wide variety of works of art made of wood, sandstone and metal. It starts at the Kreidacher Höhe bus stop. The art trail will soon start on the Tromm Höhenweg between Wagenberg and Tromm. You will be accompanied by contemporary works of art to the left and right of the path as well as beautiful views of the Überwald, the Weschnitz Valley and the front Odenwald as far as the Palatinate Forest. For a little rest, the relaxation lounger in front of the Gaderner Hütte is ideal, where you can rest briefly with a great view. It gets more bizarre about a kilometer and a half later when you reach the sculpture “Homage to the Odenwald”. Here you can take a few minutes to understand the artist's message. On your way you will come across many other works of art.The sculpture "Expectation" by Siglinde Gros is particularly worth mentioning. The figures are carved from wood and stand impressively in front of the green foliage of the trees. Last but not least, you will come across a rest area with fresh water and shortly afterwards you will come back to the starting point. You start your journey home rich in new impressions.h landscape and shady spruce and pine stands. Juniper and blackthorn stocks, which are among the most important in Hesse, await you on lean lime grass. Here you will also discover rare orchids and in spring numerous cowslips grow along the way.If you arrive by bus, you start at the Platte stop in Dörnberg. At first it goes uphill. The climb is worthwhile because from here you can catch a wonderful view of the place. After you have reached the highest point of the tour at 470 meters, it goes slightly downhill again until you reach the Bergcafé Friedichstein. Here you will also find an impressive panorama picture with all the surrounding peaks and their names. After almost two kilometers you will reach the fantastically beautiful alpine path, which gives you a touch of alpine flair. This section is topped by the juniper meadows, which you reach a little later. Almost like a fairytale, the bushes grow like spots of color on the poor grass. The hills of the Hessian mountain landscape rise in the background. A touch of the Alps in - from a Bavarian point of view - the far north of Germany.
