Today's tour is a long distance hike. That means the starting point and destination are not identical. That's why we start in the center of Oppelsbohm and take the 330 bus for about 45 minutes to just before Kaisersbach and get off at the Eulenhof stop. There we go right into the forest in the direction of Welzheim. Passing the Aichstrutsee we come to the small Roman fort Rötelsee. Parallel to the country road, it then goes on the outskirts of Welzheim in the direction of Rudersberg. Shortly after a garden shed, a forest path branches off to the right. We follow this steep path to the Wieslauf. Since the bridge is currently destroyed, we have to cross the stream on foot. Go through the experience field Eins + Alles and turn left at the end. At the parking lot, turn right into the forest. After about 200 m a narrow path branches off to the right. It goes steeply down into the great Wieslauf Gorge. This is my personal highlight of this tour. The gorge is a so-called spell forest. The trees are criss-crossed across the path. Again and again we have to climb over the trees or overcome muddy and slippery passages. Good footwear is an absolute must here. Right at the beginning we pass the romantically situated blade mill. Shortly afterwards a so-called "lost place" follows - the destroyed electrical works. After about 1 km we leave the gorge and come to the railway viaduct above Klaffenbach. In summer, steam locomotives sometimes run here on weekends. In Klaffenbach we cross at the inn to the left to the sawmill. Shortly after Klaffenbach there is a nice rest area with benches, tables and even a barbecue area. Now it goes along in the Wieslauftal to Rudersberg. There we go through the industrial area, past the Weru company in the direction of the outdoor pool. Shortly before the swimming pool, turn left up the mountain to a dirt road. We now follow this path until we have reached the top of the mountain. Then always straight ahead to the Königsstein. There to the left in the direction of Kieselhof. On the dirt road towards Necklinsberg turn right down towards the forest. After a short while we come to a tarred road. Follow this very steeply to the top left and then branch off to the right. After a few hundred meters, a narrow, hard-to-see path branches off to the right. We follow this downhill and come out above Oppelsbohm. Now it is not far to our starting point. All in all, a scenic and varied tour - which, however, due to its length, requires a certain basic level of fitness.
