In Saalhausen at the bike shop “Der Radgeber” you get on your bike and start your tour towards Kahler Asten. Right at the beginning you attach yourself to the bank of the Lenne and cycle upriver on the Lenneroute. The route meanders through the beautiful landscape of the Rothaargebirge with gentle ups and downs. In Westfeld you leave the Lenne and start the ascent on the Kahler Asten. On the way you can enjoy an unforgettable view of the surrounding mountains of the low mountain range. Shortly before the summit you will reach the Lennequelle. Here the 129 kilometer long river begins its journey to the Ruhr. From the source it is only a few meters to the summit of the Kahler Asten. With a height of almost 842 meters, it is the third highest mountain in the Rothaargebirge. After you have soaked up the wide view and had some refreshment in the summit restaurant, you make your way back.On the Lenneroute it goes along the river down into the valley. From Westfeld you follow the same route that you took on the way there. The only difference: on the way back to Saalhausen it is mostly relaxed downhill. Perfect to end the tour nicely. The perfect bike for this tour: Giant Explore E +
