Why travel to Tuscany when you can also drive through Kraichgau and Stromberg? On this tour through the idyllic Streitbachtal you will definitely get that real holiday feeling. You drive through picturesque vineyards, enjoy breathtaking views and can cool off in the shady forests in the southwestern part of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park. The starting point of the short gravel tour is the train station in Vaihingen an der Enz. With the best connections from all directions, you can reach it in less than a quarter of an hour, for example from Pforzheim or Stuttgart - the perfect start to a completely stress-free tour. It is all about viticulture: this is what the region is known for. It is not for nothing that Vaihingen was named “International City of Vine and Wine”. So it doesn't take long until you can throw the first great views of the vineyards at the gates of the city - and a little later collect the first vineyard vertical meters. In the wine village of Gündelbach you could go a step further and treat yourself to a little taste, and if you want, you can also take a short detour to the vineyards with a really phenomenal view. Now it's getting really idyllic. You reach the Streitenbach, which you cross through a ford - in summer this is a welcome change! Here you can also make a detour to the Gausberg. You follow the course of the Streitenbach for a while over the lower Endbergstrasse, a perfect “gravel road” in a picturesque setting. It leads you to Zaisersweiher, a cozy village with a historic center, bakery and wine bar. After you've rested a bit, it's back to Vaihingen. The return trip is also beautiful and pure gravel fun. It leads you through shady forest mainly on beautiful gravel paths back to the starting point of the round. When you arrive at Vaihingen train station, it is worth taking a detour to the city. Vaihingen has a beautiful, lovingly restored historic town center with narrow streets and the impressive Kaltenstein Castle and is definitely worth a visit.
