In the south of the land of 1000 hills lies the largest town in the Enzkreis, Mühlacker - but it is actually quite tranquil. Mühlacker is embedded in the fantastically beautiful landscape of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park and the Kraichgau. The small town is located directly on the Enz, on the banks of which the grounds of the “Enzgärten 2015” horticultural show extends. The castle ruin Löffelstelz towers high above the city walls, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view over the picturesque Enz Valley. In short: Mühlacker is a great starting point for this short gravel tour that leads you through idyllic meadow valleys and dreamy half-timbered villages. You start at Mühlacker train station. This is super practical because it is very well connected to the rail network. For example, you can get there from Pforzheim in less than a quarter of an hour - without a car. So it starts from here. Via a mix of quiet side streets and wide gravel paths, you will soon reach the first cultural highlight of the tour, the small village of Schmie, which invites you to take a break with its beautiful half-timbered houses. Then it becomes quiet again and you dive back into the picturesque hilly landscape, which has its charm in every season. In Lienzingen, the route makes another bend towards the town center. Here you will feel like in the Middle Ages! Narrow streets, ancient half-timbered houses and the church in the middle - you can relax here for a while and treat yourself to a coffee or snack. Then it becomes quite contemplative again in the Lienzinger Valley along the Schmiebach.Since all good things come in threes, a cultural highlight awaits you with beautiful half-timbered houses and good cafés: Illingen is the third place on this tour where a little rest is absolutely worthwhile. From here it is not far to the starting point of the tour. In Mühlacker you can end the round in the Enz gardens on the banks of the Enz in a very comfortable way.
