Marita and Garfield went for a hike.

As the saying goes: "The world is a village".I can say the same thing today. This statement mostly relates to people, but this time I would like to use it for our walk ..I've had this mural (1) in front of my nose for a long time and of course VEB Pentacon in Dresden is also familiar to me. But .. it actually took a walk in the Tharandt forest near Hartha and the amazement at an "Ernemann hut" to look for a connection. Sometimes you also meet people who report proudly about their place.👍 Here a thank you to an older, unknown lady (who will never read this thank you), to whom I owe a lot of input. If you like, I also like to take you on a little trip 😊:Heinrich Ernemann was a Dresden entrepreneur and inventor in the photo industry and founder of Ernemann - Werke AG with the last company headquarters in Dresden on Schandauer Str.As always, Wikipedia tells much more of his eventful life and work.In 1926 his works merged with others to form "Zeiss-Ikon". Disempowered in 1947, they became VEB Pentacon. Here in Bannewitz, photographic base plates were manufactured for cameras and later film projectors, which are still used in cinemas today. What does the climatic health resort Hartha have to do with it? Ernemann, like so many well-heeled people, had his summer villa "Heinrichs Eck" built in Hartha in 1900 at Harthe-Berg 21, which today is privately owned, but in which the stairwell and ground floor can be viewed. In 1928 Ernemann died in the villa. Since he was a sponsor of the place, the state enterprise Sachsenforst had a refuge built in the Tharandt forest with his name.So here we come full circleIf you are interested in this or would like to experience a very interesting hands-on day with children, you will find the opportunity in the Dresden Technical Collections at Junghans Str. Plan a whole day in. My young offspring did not come to an end back then. 🙊
One could 'almost' have met today ...
Yes, I just saw it too .. 😄 Hihi, the world is a village🙃
Hello Marita, again a very nice report and great winter photos. Yes, the technical collections are worth a visit. I especially like the mechanical musical instruments.
Hello Marita, thank you for the great connection between Ernemann and Hartha. Ernemann is familiar to me and I had already visited Hartha several times. But that Ernemann had a villa in Hartha is new to me and the former Pentaconer. It was probably due to my socialist upbringing. 😆 Have a nice Sunday. 😀
👍❤️😀 ... that's right
Yes, Wolfgang, I think so! It's almost a matter of course for a musician..😆The exhibition is really extensive and presented in a very interesting way!
Wolfram, you were a Pentagon? It's interesting! I also knew someone who worked at Pentacon. Back then it was very popular as a workplace. Well, unfortunately as I know, it is really a very socialist company. Well, the cameras went to the west too ..But I didn't know that there was such an Ernemann business here in Bannewitz, as well as a lot in and around Hartha. Hartha was probably a place where people went to cure even during the GDR era. It was a great sideline for the locals because they housed the accompanying people. There was a large hall where people danced. Unfortunately, it was in ruins today. Well, that's just how it is in many places. . Have a nice Sunday to you too! 😀
Hello Marita, nice that you are on the road again. I always like your detailed reports very much 👍. You did a nice tour today 🔝. Pictures are 👍👍👍. The weather had been perfect today. Greetings from Upper Franconia
Thank you, Markus 😄. Yes, like with you, the most beautiful sunshine in Saxony! However, we really lack the courage to ride a bike😁🙈. Hats off for being so undeterred. 👍 This is how we get to know Upper Franconia😊🙃😀. Greetings from Saxony back 🙋
For me, the Pentagon was a coincidence. When I was in 8th grade, it was common to go to careers counseling and that brought me to Pentagon without being asked. In February 1990 I graduated as a skilled worker and then I worked with socialist vigor to the end. 😉🙄😢🤷♀️ In any case, I am richer by one experience. I don't want to go back, but the fact that the industry was so brutally destroyed, I can't get over it today either. For some, Corona is about the existence for which I can now develop compassion. I think it's important not to lose faith in hope. Today I was lucky enough to ski in the sun. 😀 I believe, Marita, that you will take this beautiful day with you for the next few days. Have a good evening, Wolfram.
Thank you Wolfram for sharing your memories with us. Yes, I also know from my immediate circle of acquaintances that this break at that time radically changed life for some for a negative one. It is true that a parallel can be drawn with today. I also extend my condolences to those who have to give up. It's really really bitter. It is not only the existence but also the content of life that is broken.Yes, I am a person who draws a lot of strength and energy from the sun. So today it was a particularly good day for me / us as well as for you.Thank you, Wolfram, have a nice Sunday evening too!
