Today the final of the Alb Crossing Tour is waiting for you! You start in Balingen and take a bit of culture with you on the way by cycling along the impressive moated castle, the Zollernschloss. Then the urban flair is over for now, because now around 60 kilometers of mountain biking in the typical style of the Swabian Alb await you. And that means: It goes up and down - you will be credited with more than 1,200 vertical meters at the end of the day. You pass a highlight in the truest sense of the word. The Lemberg (1,015m) near Gosheim is the highest mountain in the Alb.
If you have enough grains in your bones, we recommend the ascent to the Lemberg, because up there there is a magnificent 360 degree view from the Lembergturm. The hut is also managed on some weekends.
From Gosheim a crisp ascent leads to the Klippeneck: the highest glider airfield in Germany and the view up there is nothing to prevent this superlative: wonderful. There is a worthwhile detour shortly afterwards. The picturesque pilgrimage church on the Dreifaltigkeitsberg is around 300m away. In addition to a refreshment stop, there is a year-round crib exhibition there.
If you want to drink a traditional Swabian and award-winning beer as a reward shortly before the end of the stage, we recommend the Hirsch brewery in Wurmlingen. If you are in the mood for a beer tasting (which is also offered there), you will also find great places to stay in Wurmlingen.Enjoy the beautiful trails and paths as well as the many small hills with great views of the surrounding area before the tour slowly comes to an end. One last beautiful descent finally leads you down to Tuttlingen, the final destination of this stage trip. From here you can easily take the regional express back to the starting point in Aalen. If you want to freshen up beforehand, the thermal bath, the "Tuttlinger Wasserwelt" (TuWass) is ideal.
