“Tour de belle Vue” could also be called today's stage of the Alb-Crossing, because it is really particularly beautiful. And today you can fully enjoy the viewpoints, because today's route is by no means flat, but it has significantly less altitude than the other stages. Only at the very end there is another big chunk waiting for you ...After the start in the cozy village of Gruibingen, a short but crisp uphill ensures that you get warm. But once the body has reached its operating temperature, a promising and relatively flat section awaits you, which spoils you with great vantage points. Again and again you come across beautiful places that invite you to take a short break. How about a small snack in a cozy garden tavern? Or with a picnic on a panoramic wooden bench with a view of the Reußenstein ruins, which are spectacularly perched on top of a steep rock? Two highlights of the area are not exactly on the route of the Alb Crossing, but they are definitely worth a little detour. You shouldn't miss the Schopflocher Moor with its unique flora and fauna. A walk along a rustic wooden walkway gives you wonderful insights into this very special natural area, which is not under nature protection for nothing. A little later you can combine a cultural detour with a small mountain challenge: The Teck summit castle is 773 meters above sea level and the way up is pretty steep. But it's worth it: Upstairs you can fortify yourself in the restaurant, the view is impressive and the old walls are totally worth seeing. You can already see how it goes on from the castle: Now there is a rapid descent into the small town of Owen, which is known for its whiskey distilleries. It is located in the middle of the Swabian Alb biosphere area and it is really tranquil here. Nevertheless, there are some places to stop for a break and shop, including a farm shop with regional delicacies. It is a good idea to take a short rest here, because before you reach the stage destination Bad Urach, a crisp ascent on Hohenneuffen awaits you, on the summit of which the castle of the same name sits enthroned, which is also worth a small detour. After that, it's almost all downhill, so that you can end the tour with pleasure. There is a lot to discover in Bad Urach, including the residential palace and the cozy old town with historic half-timbered houses and a beautiful market square. If your bones long for a little relaxation, you are welcome to pursue it in the thermal bath.
