This is an extension of the original Wilde Oosten route with some extra gravel strips near Riel. This route takes you over singletrack and unpaved paths along the beautiful Surae to Rijen. Here you can briefly recover on some strips of asphalt along the Gilze-Rijen airbase, before diving back into the woods at Hulten. From here you drive through the city forest of Tilburg on a few beautiful gravel strips towards Goirle and Riel. Near Riel, you cycle across the mock airfield De Kiek, a fake airfield built by the Germans to lead the Allies astray. Via 't Zand and the Chaamse Bossen you return unpaved to Breda.

I cycled this route today. Normally I make my own rounds, but wanted to try something new. Nice route, but unfortunately the route was a bit dated as parts of the route were not accessible. Surae is no longer accessible for cyclists, large parts of the Regte Heide and Riels Laag are also closed to cyclists and some paths no longer exist, at 't Zand they are building new houses over the route and at Annabosch they are working on forestry. Apparently it can change quickly in 8 months.

Yes, thoroughly enjoyed it 😊. It was just a bit of improvisation.

A really beautiful route 👌🏽 adjust a little here and there but that is part of the adventure. My dad thought it was incredibly beautiful and he is 70 and has been cycling all his life so that says enough ☺️ Thank you Bjornrides.cc we enjoy your rides
